LTD cares about the health and safety of the community. Preventing the spread of COVID-19 is a team effort.

Here are some of the ways LTD is keeping bus operators, riders, and community safe:

        工口动画Employee Temperature Screening
All LTD employees are temperature screened at the beginning of their shift and before entering any LTD facility. Anyone with a temperature over 100 degrees Fahrenheit will be sent home.

This includes trips to essential work, grocery, to care for someone, medical and pharmacy. There are a lot of essential workers keeping our community going right now – to be sure we can adequately serve them, please stay off transit unless absolutely essential.

Limiting riders on buses – 20 people on a 40 foot/30 people on a 60 foot vehicle工口动画
This is to make sure people have enough space to spread out to prevent overcrowding. If a bus has 20/30 passengers (depending on size of bus) it will not pick up new passengers until someone exits. We’ll try to adjust service if buses are consistently full, but you may want to leave extra time for your trip.

Marking off seats to promote social distancing
LTD has installed signage on seats throughout the buses, indicating to not sit there in order to promote social distancing.

Frequently touched surfaces are wiped down throughout the day and each night. You can help out by following best practices and not traveling when sick.

Temporarily suspending fare collection and boarding through the back doors工口动画
All of LTDs buses are now free to ride. To further reduce person-to-person exposure, riders should board through the rear door(s). For those needing to use the ramp, boarding at the front doors is acceptable.

Requiring use of a mask for everyone on LTD vehicles and facilities工口动画
While medical masks need to be saved for healthcare workers, health experts are now saying face coverings are helpful in reducing the spread of the virus. All riders are required to wear a hands-free paper or cloth mask covering their nose and mouth in order to board an LTD bus or enter an LTD facility.

The LTD Customer Service Counter at 1080 Willamette  St. is now open 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Monday - Friday. Representatives are also available by phone 7:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m., Monday - Friday at 541-687-5555. The waiting lobby and restrooms remain closed at this time. The closest public restroom is located at 10th and Olive by the Library.

The business of the District must continue. The Board of Directors will be holding public meetings using technology that provides them the ability to be remote, and the public the ability to stay involved.

Updating the LTD website and social media regularly with service information工口动画
Changes happen daily. LTD will do their best to communicate service changes, procedural changes, and ways to help keep everyone safe. Please check back regularly for updated information.

Following the guidance of authorities工口动画
The Oregon Health Authority is leading the response across Oregon, and we’re following their advice in terms of precautions and mitigation measures.

Eliminating the transportation of recycling on the bus工口动画
Due to social distancing requirements and Health-first concerns,  riders are not allowed to transport their recycling on the bus at this time.
